Sølvberg on board

Ingrid Sølvberg has her first day of work for Vår Energi this week. She joins the executive management team, and will head up the department for technology, drilling and subsurface.

In June, CEO Torger Rød announced a new organizational structure in Vår Energi ASA. With Ingrid Sølvberg in place, the company’s executive management team is finally complete.

Ingrid has been brought in to lead the Technology, Drilling & Subsurface department and will, among other things, be responsible for better utilisation of new technological solutions and speeding up the digitalisation processes.

CEO Torger Rød explains:

Ingrid will lead some of the most important business areas in the company. In order to achieve our goal of long-term value creation and more sustainable production of oil and gas, it is crucial that we lead the way in technology development and seek continuous improvement in everything we do. I know Ingrid as a very skilled professional and a confident and well-liked leader. She has the qualities needed for the future, and I look forward to working together.

In the new organizational structure, emphasis is placed on simplification, which will give better prioritisation of competence and capacity.

The new Executive Vice President (EVP), Ingrid Sølvberg says:

After several, and very valuable years on the governmental side of the oil and gas industry, I am now back with an operator. I am proud, but also very inspired to be joining Vår Energi on the way forward. The company has an exciting profile and plan for the future. There are still great opportunities to create significant value on the NCS, and Vår Energi has skilled and competent employees who can realizing this potential. Now I’m looking forward to getting into place, meeting colleagues and start contributing.

Sølvberg comes from the position as Director General in the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD). She has previously held other leadership positions in the directorate, Centrica and Statoil (now Equinor).
