Eni Norge awarded two partnerships in the Barents Sea

PRESS RELEASE: Eni Norge has been awarded partnerships in Licence no 608 and 226B in the 21st licensing round. The blocks are located in key areas close to Eni Norge’s existing licences in the Barents Sea.

Statoil is the operator of the two licenses awarded. In Licence no 608 Eni Norge has a 30 percent share while Petoro holds a 20 percent interest. In Licence no 226B Eni Norge holds an interest of 31 %. Eni Norge is pleased with the award. The long term strategy for Eni Norge in the Barents Sea remains.

The 21st licensing round was announced on 23 June 2010, and comprised 94 blocks in the Barents Sea and Norwegian Sea. By the deadline for submitting applications on 3 November 2010, 37 companies had applied for production licenses.

Eni Norge holds an interest share in Skrugard of 30%, where Statoil is the operator.

Operator of the Goliat field is Eni Norway AS (65%) together with partner Statoil Petroleum AS (35%). The development of Goliat will be the first development of an oil field in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea. Goliat is scheduled to be in production during 4Q 2013
