Disclosure of information and dialogue with local communities and stakeholders that may be affected by our operations is an important part of an impact assessment.
Most of our projects are on the Norwegian continental shelf, and therefore our impact assessments are usually only published in Norwegian.
All our impact assessments are shared in PDF format.
Ongoing impact assessments and public consultations:
Development and Operation of the Gjøa Subsea Projects (GSP)
In recent years, several discoveries have been made in the area north of the Gjøa field (located in the northern part of the North Sea), off the coast of Sogn og Fjordane in Vestland County.
These include the discoveries Ofelia (PL929), Gjøa Nord (PL153), and Cerisa (PL636). The discoveries are planned to be tied into existing infrastructure, with Gjøa Semi serving as the host installation for processing and export.
Plans are being made to submit Plans for Development and Operation (PDO) / an application for exemption from the development part of the PDO for the fields included in GSP in June 2026, including a joint Impact Assessment (IA).
The IA has been carried out based on a program determined by the Ministry of Energy following consultation on the licensees’ proposed program in the first quarter of 2025. The current IA is now being presented for consultation.
The consultation deadline is Tuesday, May 8, 2026.
