Exploration

We are proud of our strong explorations results. With a discovery rate of around 50 %, we are recognised as the most successful explorer on the NCS in 2024 – a trend that is following the same success rate since 2019.

Our results stem from proven exploration capabilities, including a highly skilled, passionate and creative team with deep NCS knowledge.

We are also leveraging technological innovations and capabilities of our majority shareholder Eni.

Unlocking future potential

Our key 2024 discoveries Ringhorne North, Cerisa and Countach are aligned with our near field/hubs centric exploration strategy, located near Balder, Gjøa and Goliat respectively. The upside potential for these areas is significant and we’re already working hard to turn these discoveries into production and value.

In 2024 we drilled 13 exploration wells. In 2025 we plan to do around 20, making us the second most active explorer on the NCS. Based on our significant and flexible inventory of over 200 prospects, we will maintain a high activity level of 15-20 wells per year until 2028.
