Goliat contract to Aker Solutions

PRESS RELEASE: Aker Solutions has been awarded the contract to design and deliver on-vessel mooring systems to be installed on Goliat FPSO.

Eni Norway and partner Statoil have on behalf of the Goliat licence (PL 229/PL 229B) signed a contract with Aker Solutions in Arendal for the design and delivery of an on-vessel mooring system to be installed on the Goliat FPSO. The contract has a value of 150 million NOK.

The contract consists of windlasses and fairleads for 14 mooring lines. The equipment will be manufactured in Norway, Polen and South-Korea and the delivery will take place during 2011.

The Goliat FPSO will be built at the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Per date more than 50 percent of the total contract values for the Goliat development has been awarded to Norwegian suppliers. Goliat is scheduled to be in production during 4Q 2013.

Operator of the Goliat field is Eni Norway AS (65%) together with partner Statoil (35%). The development of Goliat will be the first development of an oil field in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea.
