Our business

A leading independent oil and gas producer

Vår Energi is one of the  largest exploration and production companies in Norway. The average net production from the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) is 220,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) from 39 oil and gas fields.

Value focused field portfolio

The company operates four fields on the NCS, located in the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea. In addition to the operated fields, Vår Energi currently holds ownership interests in 35 partner-operated fields. These fields form the basis of our value-enhancing hub strategy an planned production growth.

Long history

We have a best practice operating organisation with over 50 years of experience on the NCS, built on ExxonMobil’s and Eni’s legacies from the 1960’s.
