Alessandro Barberis joined Vår Energi in 2021 from his previous role as Managing Director of Eni Cyprus. Barberis has 30 years of experience within the oil and gas industry and has held key technical and leadership roles internationally in the Eni Upstream Sector.

In the last fifteen years he has held the position of VP Exploration for the Americas, Europe, Central Far East Asia and Pacific as well as holding senior leadership positions in Exploration through different assignments in Italy and abroad (Northern Europe, North Africa, East Med.). He has also served both as Director and Chairman on the boards of Eni International and Italian companies.

Alessandro Barberis holds an honours degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Milano.
